Chain and work in row

Mailles en l'air - ml et travail en rang
chain - ch and word in row

To start a work in row, make à slip knot.

To make a chain. Yarn over and pass it through the loop on your hook.

Several stitches form a chain.

To start a row after a chain, insert the hook into the 2nd loop starting from the hook (in yellow in the picture) and make your single crochet as normal.

When you reach the end of the row, to move on to the next row, make a chain and turn your work. Then start your row as indicated.

So make a chain.

Then turn your work.
The first stitch of the next row will be worked into the last stitch of the previous row (indicated by the arrow), not into the chain.

You know how to start a work in row and how to move from one row to another!
